President Ruto reappoints Nyange as PSRA Chair as CSs restructure key ministries

Nyange had previously held the position but for a short tenure following the revocation of former chair Stephen Ng'ang'a's appointment.
President William Ruto has reappointed Adiel Nyange as the chairperson of the board of the Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA).
In a gazette notice on Friday, Ruto confirmed that Nyange, a former Nyeri County Police Commander, will serve a three-year term.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 11(1)(a) of the Private Security Regulation Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint Adiel Nyange to be the Chairperson of the Private Security Regulatory Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from February 7, 2025," the notice read.
Nyange had previously held the position but for a short tenure following the revocation of former chair Stephen Ng'ang'a's appointment.
In addition to Nyange's reinstatement, four Cabinet Secretaries have made new appointments in their respective ministries as part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at improving government operations.
Defence CS Soipan Tuya announced the appointment of Brigadiers Jeremiah Maroko and Kioko Mwololo as members of the Kenya Defence Forces Pension Assessment Committee.
Their primary role will be to oversee the proper management of the KDF pension scheme. They will serve alongside Colonel Symon Yator, Robert Maweu Mutula, and Patricia Njau for a three-year term, effective February 7.
Labour CS Alfred Mutua appointed Joel Chebii to the National Industrial Training Board for a similar three-year term.
Under the Ministry of Water and Sanitation, CS Eric Muuga named Hannah Nyambura Ndungu as Chairperson and John Kariuki as Secretary of the Ministry of Environment's Ministerial Audit Committee.
They will lead the committee alongside members Patrick Mutisya Mbithi, Dorothy Chepngetich, Ololchike Spenser Sankale, and Timothy Munyole.
CS Muuga also appointed Jael Jepchumba and Samuel Gitonga to the Hydrologists Registration Board, effective February 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, Lands CS Alice Wahome appointed Daniel Maina Mukiri and David Nyangau Siriba as members of the Land Surveyors' Board for a two-year term.
She also named Kombo Mwero, Christopher Kinyua Tiras, Erastus Chege Mwangi, and Fredrick Ouma Oduor to the same board, with their appointments taking effect immediately.
